Foreign Trade Zones are areas where domestic and foreign merchandise is brought for the purpose of storage, manufacturing, assembly, salvage, repackaging, repair, re-export, transshipping, exhibit and other operations. They are enclosed areas considered outside U.S. Customs territory in which duties on merchandise can be deferred, reduced, or in some cases eliminated. Foreign Trade Zone Number 94 was established in 1983 at the Laredo International Airport complex. Foreign Trade Zone Number 94 is comprised of four sites:
