Laredo's current Labor Force continues to show tremendous growth. In 1990, the City's Labor Pool was at 54,700, and by the end of 1995, this figure reached 70,200 - reflecting an increase of 28 percent in the last five years.

Moreover, the number of employers has also shown significant development. In 1991, 2,717 employers were in Laredo. By 1995, that number reached 3,336.
According to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, 1995 Second Quarter Total Wages for Laredo MSA totalled $260 million dollars - showing impressive growth since 1991, when 2nd Quarter Total Wages were only $187 million dollars.
