Laredo's elementary and secondary level educational needs are well serviced by St. Augustine, United & Laredo Independent School District's 54 school campuses.

Laredo Community College is a comprehensive educational institution offering two-year Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees as well as certificates in a number of career fields. Academic transfer courses leading to a bacheloršs degree are also offered. LCC is the regional trainer for nursing and allied health programs and also offers programs in criminal justice, import-export, computer programming, secretarial training, child development, electronics, electrical technology, mechanics, A/C-refrigeration, and many other fields. In addition, LCC offers customized training programs to companies requiring specific instruction for their employees.

Texas A & M International University, a member of the Texas A & M University System, is a four year university, state-supported institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts and sciences, education and business.

The University is internationally reknown for its graduate degree programs in international trade, banking and logistics attracting students from all over the world. TAMIU is enjoying unprecedented growth and has recently opened its new 300 acre campus in Northeast Laredo.
